Oh, this is quite interesting ! Tennis is a game where two oponents try to win by playing a ball from one side to the other side of a court. The ball is yellow, in the middle of the court is a net and the game comes from France about 500 years ago.

On the other site, today tennis as well describes a special kind of sport shoes, IMO those, which are used to play tennis, the game.
