mail delivered in mexico

Does Mexico have a post office like in the United States.
If they don't then do you know what it would be called. I was also wondering how does the mail get delivered to the smaller villages/towns. Is there a way to contact the place that delivers the mail. Thanks.................

I would recommend to use any kind of express service like UPS, DHL or some others. And yes there is a mexican postal system, called CORREOS , The US Post for example as well works together with them. You could get in contact with them, so they could explain You the best way to send mail to Mexico.
